| POSTAL SERVICES | |
Several Post Offices (in Serrekunda, Bakau, Banjul, Farafenne, Basse...) make it possible to send or receive airmail. It is possible to acquire a Post Office Box (P. O. Box) or Private Mail Bag (P. M. Bag) where one can receive mail or postal packages, for a reasonable annual fee. For three to four dalasis (the cost of a stamp), one can send a letter or a post card to Europe or the United States. Airmail can take several days to arrive at its destination (anywhere from 5 to 15 days) and can sometimes be delayed. Confidential or urgent letters, parcels and packages should be sent through registered mail. |

LOCAL DRINKS |
Nature contains marvelous surprises… along with the coconut drink, you can also quench your thirst with the famous BISSAP; made from flowers soaked or boiled for 5 minutes, then filtered and sugared, this typical local juice is rich in vitamin C and frequently drunk by Gambians. Try also to taste the BOUYE juice, which is also called in French “pain de singe”, made out of the baobab fruit. Its therapeutic qualities against diarrhea are proven. |
